Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
This policy explains how Avesta Labs LLP ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on avestalabs.ai. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
- Cookies: small text files a website stores in your browser. First-party cookies are set by avestalabs.ai. Third-party cookies are set by another company's service that we use, such as Google.
- Local storage and session storage: let a website remember small pieces of information in your browser. Session storage is cleared when you close the tab. Local storage stays until you clear it.
- Pixels and tags: small pieces of code that send information about a page visit to an analytics service.
2. Why we use them
| Category | What it's for | Can you refuse it? |
|---|---|---|
| Security | Protecting our contact form from spam and abuse (Google reCAPTCHA) | If it's blocked, the contact form may not send. You can email us instead |
| Preferences | Remembering small choices, like closing the announcement bar | Yes. The site works without it |
| Analytics | Understanding how people find and use the site, so we can improve it (Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager) | Yes. See section 6 |
| Campaign measurement | Measuring visits from our own campaigns on specific campaign pages (our own pixel) | Yes. See section 6 |
| Embedded content | Playing videos hosted on YouTube | Yes. Don't play embedded videos, or block YouTube cookies |
3. The cookies and storage we use
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Type | How long it lasts | Where |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics 4, through Google Tag Manager | Tells visits from different browsers apart | Analytics, first-party cookie | 2 years | All pages |
_ga_FZCKLVEVPV | Google Analytics 4 | Keeps track of the current visit (session) | Analytics, first-party cookie | 2 years | All pages |
_GRECAPTCHA | Google reCAPTCHA | Checks that a form submission comes from a person, not a bot | Security, third-party (google.com) | 6 months | Pages with the contact form |
gtm_tid | Avesta Labs campaign pixel | Remembers the campaign link ID (the utm_content value) you arrived with, so we can attribute the visit to that campaign or email | Campaign measurement, first-party cookie | 90 days | Campaign pages (currently /point-solutions/cad) |
gtm_sid | Avesta Labs campaign pixel | Groups the events of one visit | Campaign measurement, session storage | Until you close the tab | Campaign pages |
announcement-dismissed:<id> | Avesta Labs | Remembers that you closed the announcement bar | Preference, local storage | Until you clear it | All pages |
celebration-seen:<id> | Avesta Labs | Makes a one-time animation play only once | Preference, local storage | Until you clear it | The Claude partner announcement post |
YouTube cookies (e.g. YSC, VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE) | Google / YouTube | Set by YouTube when you play an embedded video | Embedded content, third-party | From the session up to about 6 months | Industry pages; /point-solutions/cad uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode |
Google Tag Manager (GTM-TGHMF7RJ) appears on every page. It sets no cookies of its own; it only loads the Google Analytics tags listed above.
4. Google Analytics in more detail
GA4 tells us:
- which pages are viewed
- how people reached the site (for example a search engine, LinkedIn or an email link)
- approximate location (country and city)
- device and browser type
- some actions on the page: scrolling, clicks on links to other sites, clicks on "Request a demo" and on the contact form's submit button
What GA4 doesn't get:
- Your IP address: GA4 doesn't log or store it.
- What you type into the contact form: we don't send it to Google Analytics.
How long we keep it: we keep GA4 data for 14 months.
Google's own use of this data is described in its privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
5. Our campaign pixel in more detail
On our campaign pages (currently /point-solutions/cad), we load our own measurement script from gtm.avestahq.com. It records:
- the page address, the page that referred you, and any campaign tags in the link (
utm_parameters) - your screen size and browser language
- clicks on buttons we've marked for measurement
- form submissions, without your name, email address or message. Those reach us only through the contact form itself, as described in our Privacy Policy.
If you arrive from a link in one of our emails, the link may carry an ID that lets us see which email led to the visit. The gtm_tid cookie keeps that ID for 90 days.
6. Your choices
Browser settings. You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. Most browsers also let you block third-party cookies only. Blocking cookies won't stop you reading the site. The contact form may not send without reCAPTCHA; if so, email us at hello@avestalabs.ai.
Google Analytics opt-out. Google offers a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits on any site.
YouTube. Videos load only when you click play. If you don't play them, YouTube's cookies aren't set.
7. Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy when we change the cookies we use, and change the "Last updated" date above.
